The Provider
Founder & Independent CRNA
Erica Riley, DNP, CRNA is the founder of Life of Riley Anesthesia Staffing. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing with her BSN in 2009, then went on to spend three years as a PICU nurse at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. — caring for some of the most critically ill pediatric patients in the region.
Driven by a desire to broaden her clinical experience, Erica became a travel nurse, working in New Jersey, Hawaii, and ultimately a Level 1 Adult Trauma ICU in Arizona — where she managed the full spectrum of complex, critically injured patients. That depth of critical care experience across pediatric and adult populations became the foundation for her anesthesia training.
Erica graduated from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science with her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia in 2020, earning the prestigious Agatha Hodgins Outstanding Student Nurse Anesthetist Award — presented to the graduate who best exemplifies dedication to excellence in anesthesia practice.
Independent practice is a deliberate choice: it means every facility and every patient gets Erica's full attention, expertise, and accountability — without the overhead of a large group standing between you and your anesthesia provider.
Today, Erica has practiced as a pediatric CRNA at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital (University of Michigan Health) for over 5 years — one of the nation's leading children's hospitals — while serving Washtenaw County facilities through Life of Riley Anesthesia Staffing. That dual practice means her clinical skills are sharpened daily on complex pediatric cases, bringing a level of expertise to your facility that is rarely available through a staffing group.

Philosophy of Care
Every decision — from pre-op assessment to emergence — is made with patient safety as the non-negotiable priority. Rigorous monitoring, evidence-based protocols, and thorough preparation are the foundation of every case.
Great anesthesia care is collaborative. I take time to understand your facility's workflow, your surgical team's preferences, and your patients' needs — so every case runs smoothly from start to finish.
You deserve a provider who answers your questions directly and is reachable when it matters. No phone trees, no scheduling coordinators — just a direct line to your anesthesia provider.
Anesthesia practice evolves constantly. Staying current with the latest evidence, techniques, and safety standards is a professional obligation — and a personal commitment.
